BFI as presentor during the International Research Forum on Infrastructure Planning and Economic Development in Asia

Baba’s Foundation, Inc. (BFI) was invited to make a presentation on the topic “ Milesstones and Challenges of the Microfinance Industry in the Philippines” during the recently conducted International Forum on Infrastructure Planning and Economic Development in Asia on Sept. 26 to 30,2016 at the DAP Bdg., Pasig City, Metro Manila.

The Forum was conducted by the Kyoto University of Japan , in partnership with the University of the Philippines (UP) and Development Academy of the Philippines. The forum aimed to bring together the academe, the Philippine government representatives particularly those coming from the energy and finance agencies and NGOs, to discuss on the energy and financing situation of the Philippines, issues and challenges faced and its impact on the citizenry. Participants to the Forum are graduate Students from Kyoto University coming from Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Japan, Taiwan , Singapore and the Philippines.


Baba’s Foundation was invited to give a presentation on the “Issues and Challenges of the Microfinance Sector in the Philippines”, which was delivered by its Executive Director Cristita Racosalem-Epal. Jointly faciltiated by the Kyoto University, Japan, and the DAP. Other presentors during the forum includes representatives from the Central Bank of the Philippines, Dept. of Energy, JICA, UP Los Banos, UP Diliman, DAP, DTI, DOST, and the World Bank.
